“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

ok..?
With Bush it is like playing Risk but we are going to make and or change the rules for his liking. We need to get out of Iraq and let them have their Civil War. I would say it is time for an Iraqi revolution but the only logical thing I can see to revolt against is the USA. Im not for that because of the whole self preservation aspect.
What did you expect? All your last presidents prepare you for the “New King (NWO”.. nothing new..I know that because I am from Germany, we saw such a thing not long ago - I hope we learned our lesson well..
PS google for /holocoust surviver leaving america/, you will be surprised
WORST ADMINISTRATION EVER
Interesting and what not. We’ll see where this leads, and how Congress reacts to it.
And on the subject of that ” Holocaust survivor ” thing, read the comments.
Good Luck America! Best Regards from Italy..
I’m so sick of hearing you people bitch and moan about this new executive order without reading it. It accounts for VIOLENT opposition to the war in Iraq, i.e. bombings, riots, etc. PROTESTING is not violent. Get the facts straight before you go on some self-righteous tirade devoid of any sound logic or reasoning. Every day there’s another digg akin to, “America’s Freedom: We knew you well :(” or “It’s the Constitution, and it’s being erased”. Why don’t you people get a job and get the economy going? Furthermore, if you’re really THAT convicted, why not DO something about it instead of incessantly babbling about it, regurgitating the same facts and observations that have been recycled for months now.
@Alex: The congress? From America? Wait a second you mean this: http://friends.macjournals.com/mattd/discuss/msgReader$1801
or?
@stophwining:
please take a look at http://zeitgeistmovie.com or Aaron Russo’s free film: America - from freedom to facism on google-video.
Please be sure - they give a damn for you or your family. Why? They go to church but know that religion is an imagine to control people all over the world - like the money..
YOUR LIFE HAS VALUE!
best regards from Germany
@stopwhining: maybe if you are more interessted in economics, take a look at your money system (not lame):
money as a debt (google.video)
maybe this is more what you belive in..
@stopwhining: ups, bad idea from me !

Have you heard about H Res 333? I urge you and your readers to take a few minutes to look at:
http://www.usalone.com/cgi-bin/transparency.cgi?paper=1&qnum=pet45
It’s a list of the 25 most recent comments made by real Americans participating in an online poll/letter-writing campaign concerning the impeachment charges recently filed against Vice President Cheney, which are now being evaluated by the House Judiciary Committee. Comments can be sent to elected representatives and local newspapers at your option. The participation page is at:
http://www.usalone.com/cheney_impeachment.php
Since this campaign began, several members of Congress have signed on as co-sponsors, in part due to hearing from their constituents. Has yours? Make your voice heard, and let others know!
This executive order does account for violent opposition to the war in Iraq, stopwhining is correct on that point. It also applies to ANY PERSONS who directly, indirectly, knowingly or not, provide aid to any persons who commit violence with intent to disrupt the war, or any persons who have the POTENTIAL to commit said crimes, as determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretaries of State and Defense. With that out of the way, the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States states that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of the law, yet no where in this order is there referance to judiciary procedures to enable the enforcement of this order.
Well, I’m so sick of hearing you people acquiesce in the face of grave threats to this nation. The FACT is it is without due process of the law, just like everything else from this junta. This cannot and should never be accepted. When your neighbors who do dissent start disappearing there’ll be no one to speak up for you. Maybe you’re okay with this Project for the New American Censorship, but many of us are not. Wake up and smell the tyranny!!
@Mongoose: first, I love (the most) americans for a long time and call you people friends - not your goverment.
So wtf did your goverment do in Iraq? And why we discuss in front of this question a law like this?
We called things like “speaking over Rep or Dem? Law yes or no? ” as salami or balkan-taktik to confuse the people..and hey, thats not new..we as german (not proude of it) has developted most of these tactics - so we can smell them if they come around..
(please apologise my bad english)
“Old-line Republican warns ’something’s in the works’ to trigger a police state”
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Oldline_Republican_warns_somethings_in_works_0719.html
“When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order] … there’s no check to it. It doesn’t have to be ratified by Congress. The people who bear the brunt of these dictatorial police state actions have no recourse to the judiciary. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule. … The American people don’t really understand the danger that they face.”
This is from “old-line conservative Paul Craig Roberts — a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan who has recently become known for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War”
If you are so terribly upset with the facts and not able to handle the truth about these things without blabbering on your “blogs” then please take your ultra-liberal, never appeased, always whining about what “this country doesn’t do for you” self and leave. You people will complain about this administration and the next administration, you will never be satisfied, so please just leave the country that SOME of us still love. The Constitution and the people who uphold it are not going anywhere and you better believe it.
@justleave: I realy read many of sentences like yours (not satisfied/leave) in the last time..You have to ask yourself, if this is the right way to handle people in the way your great constitution wants.. btw: did you know that the reason for your income tax is to pay for the debt for money that borrowed your goverment fom the privat owned FederallBank? That is one reason why more and more people in the us don’t pay it..take a look (also at aaron russos film on google mentioned before) it..http://consumerist.com/consumer/irs/man-dodges-taxes-for-10-years-wins-in-federal-district-court-279978.php
We need to get rid of this evil regime now! They are turning into a dictatorship and screwing the American people. We have an out of control war. Our dollar is on the verge of collapse and Bush has just set himself up to bypass all levels of the checks and balances. http://twurls.com/funny
So the last: http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Oldline_Republican_warns_somethings_in_works_0719.html
I am leaving you .. was a pleasure to read your opinions here..bye bruce
The law says violent protests against the war. The question becomes, what make the protest violent. A protest may start off peaceful, and with all intentions of being so…but how many peaceful protests have you seen turn. At what point does this executive order kick in to make any protest violent. Is it the police showing up, is a blocking of a road considered potentially violent. Someone touching the the other side. Then the question becomes who will be court? It has potential to become very scary and very real.
@ stopwhining,
it says “or pose a SIGNIFICANT THREAT of committing.” which means, that no matter what you are doing, if the president, sec. of defense and sec of the treasury say “we think that you may commit this crime”, your assets can be completely frozen.
being that he and his secretaries are the only ones who decide who ‘poses a significant threat’, they can do whatever they want.
In Germany we experienced that agents starts the rumors at the G8 in Stralsund, police officers that throw stones.
So the goverment had a reason to bring in the military and military like forces the first time ever..
Of course this is a serious destruction of civil rights!
Open your eyes, sleeping rightwing american idiots!
It’s not against violent acts only !
Read Sec. 1(ii) and (iii) !!
(ii) … (against people who…) have materially assisted … any person whose property and interests in property are blocked… !
(iii) … to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of…
any person whose property and interests in property are blocked.
So, don’t even THINK about defending someone who’s property has been blocked!
With this they can get everyone they want.
Your “Patriot Act” even tells that PROOF IS NOT NECESSARY !
=> Impeachment NOW !
Impeachment NOW !
It is time for us reassess our endless commitments, made within the framework of an interventionist foreign policy. The grandiose and unrealistic plans for policing the world will eventually collide with limits imposed by reality. Our commitments seem endless. It’s estimated we have over 700 bases around world, in 130 different countries. Intervention creates endless commitments and ongoing unintended consequences that obligate our military and even future generations to fight wars without the slightest involvement by Congress. Our bellicose approach encourages protectionism. Our government preaches free trade and commerce, yet condemns those who want any restraints on the use of our military worldwide. We refuse to see how isolated we have become. Our loyal allies are few, and while the UN does our bidding only when we buy the votes we need, our enemies multiply. A policy of strategic independence is far better than international entanglements. UN mandates, backed by American troops and money ironically lead to neo-isolationism. Those who advocate the traditional American policy of nonintervention are ridiculed as “isolationists†by the authoritarians who want the U.S. to decide all disputes. Yet it’s their interventionist’s policies, especially in the last six years, which have isolated us, reduced our allies, and increased our enemies. We are more ostracized and isolated in the world than ever before.

“No respect, no respect at all!” - The US Constitution to President Bush
@ The conservative muckrakers who still have the *gall* to blame liberals:
You are what is wrong with this country. The nation was founded on the right to oppose the government. “If you don’t like it, leave”? No. That’s not what I will do. I don’t like it. And I will overthrow this administration and replace it with one that is actually, and legitimately by the people, for the people and of the people.
And if it means I have to trample the bible thumping, hate mongering, xenophobic, homophobic, uneducated red state masses that still come to these blogs and spout “Liberal” as if it’s a dirty word, then so be it. Your twisted visage of this country will be destroyed. We, the actual patriots of this nation, will no longer abide your hate speech. Gone are the days of passive-aggressive left wing resistance.
I tell you know: help reclaim the government or be destroyed with them.
You know come early Jan 2009, these things (executive orders) won’t exist anymore right?
@ Kevin, on July 20th, 2007 at 7:02 am Said:
First of I agree with you.
I was just wondering what it is that makes you a patriot? In what way have you given something of yourself to preserve to liberty of this nation?
If the answer to that question is jump on the anti-bush ban-wagon then you might need to look up the definition of a patriot. Too little, WAY to late. Bush/Chaney have already done their damage to liberty. I agree “We the People” need to reclaim this country from the lazy fat cats whom are bought and payed for by big business. If you think that a Demo./Rep. issue then you sir have much to learn about the corruption that is plaguing our government.
Respectfully,
Zac

I would like to say thanks to those around the world who are offering their support to us Americans. We all don’t support this administration and war, and most of us want to get him out as soon as we can. I wish elections were this year, and I hope an impeachment could come soon. May be visiting abroad soon!

Firstly, the 20th is pretty late in the month (don’t believe me? Check first the Constitution and then a calendar). Further, that is if he leaves. If his actions are really to build a dictatorship, then that is no the case.
Republican Presidental candidate Ron Paul (who I will admit does not seem to be hitting all cylinders) warns that America is in danger of a staged terrorist attack. What will these people do to retain power? What do they stand to lose if they are just normal citzens again, subject to the laws of the land, under a President that releases the documentation of their wrong doing to the courts?
C’mon, people. Stop making excuses for this administration. You know damn well this little edict from Georgey Porgey will be abused and applied to anyone who opposes war.
Ron Paul 2008
all i have to say is wtf mate
“Ron Paul 2008″
So sick of hearing about Ron Paul. Can’t wait til the election is over and he losees. I Vote on Boobs at voteboob.com (google it)
Best Wishes from Canada, if you want to come over for some poutine, go straight again.
Best of luck.
As Lewis Black said: “He’s like a genie that only grants crappy wishes”
Why do people think that impeaching Bush and pulling out of Iraq is such a dire need right now. This is just my view, but didn’t we enter in the first place to rid the world of a major threat, Saddam Hussein, who had knowingly used chemical weapons of mass destruction on his own people. Who once tried to Invade kuwait and Iran, and therby control most of the World’s oil and it’s wealth. Imagine the funds he would have gained by doing so, certainly enough to build multiple A-bombs and handing them over to the terrorists to drop them on the U.S.(imagine an A-bomb going off in New York).
Yeah, I know Saddam is gone, but whose to say that when we leave Iraq to settle its own internal quarrels, that another tyrant will come into power and have success where Saddam failed. That would mean all out-war and definetly the draft, and you can whine and babble all you want but theres no dodging that.
As much as we all hate war, Bush is doing the right thing by staying in Iraq. Don’t want to take my word for it? Heres some facts: there has not been a terrorist attack on the U.S. since Sept 11, the war in iraq has caused the fewest daily casualties of any conflict.
And finally RON PAUL SUCKS
“Quote” Heres some facts: there has not been a terrorist attack on the U.S. since Sept 11, the war in iraq has caused the fewest daily casualties of any conflict. “End Quote”
Is it really a fact that it was even a “terrorist” attack?
There were none BEFORE Bush was elected. ; )
Check out : Operation Northwood.
Coincidence?
@Joe
When approx. 60,000 people died in one day at the Second Battle of the Marne (World War 1 for all you idiots). The 4,000 in four years does not seem that bad.
It’s not about that though. It’s about Bush acting like a dictator doing as he wishes. He got rid of senators for what reason? Oh that’s right… “He doesn’t have to give one.”
This is absurd. It’s no worse than Hitler.
@ Portugal
You are kiding, right? No terrorist attacks before Bush was elected? How about the FIRST World Trade Center Bombing, you know when Clinton was President? Honestly, you could not have forgotten that?
Why do you people think Bush wants to continue this war, why he has written this order… TO KEEP US AMERICANS SAFE. And so far, he has. He’ s not trying to become a dictator, thats just utterly absurd.
And for the love of God, how can you compare Bush with Hitler? Is he trying to take over the world? No. Is he killing millions of Jews? No. Does he have complete control over this countr’s government? Absolutely not.
@ Portugal
No terrorist attacks before Bush? How about the first World Trade Center bombings, when Clinton was president.
“This is absurd. It’s no worse than Hitler.”
The absurd thing here is to compare a president of the united states to a mass-murdering dictator.
what about this
